Young drivers are often more susceptible to accidents on the road. A lack of driving experience can contribute to disastrous results. Additionally, the temptations of distracted driving can lead young drivers to fatally take their attention away from the road. Sadly, this may lead to drivers losing their lives much too soon and forever change the lives of those closest to them.
Such is the case for a young college student who lost his life as the result of a single car accident. According to 11Alive, an 18 year old college student from the University of Georgia sustained fatal injuries during a car accident in Athens-Clarke County. The police report that the student was heading south approaching West Broad Street where he failed to stop. He ran into a rock retaining wall at the end of the intersection, causing injuries that later led to his death at the hospital.
Authorities report that this is the second fatal car crash in the county since the beginning of the year. The contributing factors to the crash are still under investigation and the police have not released any further information. The college student was the only person in the car, but his family members’ lives have been forever altered as a result of the accident.
People who must grieve the loss of their loved ones in accidents like this deserve help. Scheduling a consultation with an experienced personal injury attorney after a crash may be a good way for people to learn about their options for compensation or other forms of help available to them.
